Creating DOF

Since my interview footage does not have DOF ( Depth Of Field) this due to the reason of being in door and with low lightening on the subject and background. and I want to have DOF on my footage because it create more professionalism and the users and concentrate better on the subject.

Creating the DOD in premier isn’t as hard as I though it would be. First I need to create and draw line around the subject and fill it in with colour.

After that I brought the image into the timeline on a new layer so that it may stay on top.

After that I duplicate the current footage with a duplication and apply the effect(Track matte key)

Then I assign the matte to video 3 (layer 3 which is the layer I create for white image)this let me to track the image I create earlier and keep it from being blur.

after that I assigned a blur effect onto the footage on Video 1 (Layer 1) this let me blur the whole background out. and it’s not effecting the subject because of the matte.

I also apply the blur effect onto the white image so that the outline of the blur to be more smooth and realistic.
